Temporary Changes due to COVID-19

We are open to members and their guests, albeit under temporary rules.

Please ensure you read the details below before visiting the Club.

The legal limit on the number of people per social group is six. As a COVID-19 secure venue, when visiting the Club, you must be seated within a group of no more than six people. You must not socialise between groups. This is a legal requirement and we must adhere to these rules. If you are unable to follow these rules, you will be asked to leave the Club.


You must wear a mask when not seated at a table. This includes on entry and taking your seat, going to the toilets / garden.


It is now a legal requirement that anyone visiting the Club provides their contact information before being allowed entry. It is vital that you comply with these regulations to help keep people safe, and to keep businesses open. Your door fob will register your details to our computer so that you do not have to complete the sign-in sheet every time you use the Club. But you must ensure that your fob is registered and if you do not have a fob, you must fully complete the sign-in sheet with FULL NAME, PHONE NUMBER, DATE & TIME. If you do not fob or sign in you will be refused entry.


Use the hand sanitiser provided before entering. Press the intercom button – the bar team will let you in. Register your fob. Please note that your fob will not open the door, it is for contact tracing purposes only for the time being.


We must provide table service if seated inside. Please choose a table and a member of the bar team will take your order, then return with your drink(s) and take payment. If you would like to sit in the garden, please queue at the ‘order point’ at the bar, keeping your distance. A member of the bar team will take your order and payment & will deliver your drinks to the 'collection' point in the garden. Used glasses should be left at your table (indoors) or returned to the glass collection table (outdoors). When moving around the Club, wear a mask and follow the one-way system. You should return from the garden / toilets via the skittle alley. Once you have passed the dance floor, you must follow the one-way system. The toilets will operate on a one-in one-out basis. Please use hand sanitiser before entering the toilets and wash your hands with soap and water afterwards. Do not let anyone in when you leave; they will need to follow the entry protocol. It is essential that all members entering the Club use the hand sanitiser provided and register their fob / writes their name on the sheet inside the door. If we reach full capacity, we will then run a one-in one-out system.


Children of members can attend the Club on Saturday's and Sunday's, in the garden only and, no matter their age, must be supervised at all times. Parents/guardians should ensure that their children use hand sanitiser/wash their hands regularly, especially when using the children's play area and those under 11 must be accompanied to the toilets. These rules will be reviewed at the end of the month. You must sign in all children with their FULL NAME, YOUR PHONE NUMBER, DATE & TIME.


From 14/09/2020, members will now be permitted to bring guests to the Club. In line with the Club rules, members are allowed to bring in a maximum of 2 guests at any one time and the same guest may not be admitted more than two days in succession or seven days in any three months (they should become members if using more). All guests must fully complete the sign-in sheet with FULL NAME, PHONE NUMBER, DATE & TIME. Guests must adhere to the Club rules and are the responsibility of the member and your membership may be affected by your guest’s behaviour. If guests do not follow the rule or do not sign in, they will be refused entry.


On Saturday 12th September, we held a trial entertainment night - our first entertainment night in 6 months! It was a great night and with lots of positive feedback. We will now look at how we can offer more entertainment nights like this in the coming months, whilst sticking to the Government's regulations and legal requirements. Watch this space for more information.


Our quiz night on Monday 7th September was well received and therefore we will be hosting a monthly quiz night on the first Monday of the month. The quiz is open to members and their guests. £1 per person. Max 6 people per team/table. Cash Prize. Tables to be booked in advance. Members should use their own cue. Book a table in advance where possible; please ask at the bar, text 07483933486 or call between 12pm-4pm.


We are still looking into how we can bring these back. As you can appreciate, with social distancing and other regulations to take into account, we have to run a risk assessment before we can restart these and we have to consider the number of members using and not using the club. Once we have made a plan on how we can bring these back, we will provide an update.


The Club is currently supporting Prostate Cancer UK as its chosen charity (nominated & voted for by the members at the AGM). There is a collection bucket within the Club for loose change and we may go around with a bucket when we have bigger events.


Keep a safe distance while queuing.

Avoid loitering, especially near doorways.

Remember, don’t shake hands or

Exchange physical greetings.

Members Letter - 29/06/2020

Dear Member(s),

I am sure you have heard; the Club can now reopen from the 4th July. Woohoo!

Over the last three months, we have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation. We have been preparing for our reopening and will be implementing the necessary changes, based on Government guidance, to ensure the safety and welfare of our staff and members.

Please remember that it is not a case of simply reopening as we did before lockdown. It will be a while before we can return to ‘normal’ and there are many constraints and considerations to be taken into account. Consequently new, albeit temporary rules and opening times, are being implemented. These will be reviewed weekly and modified accordingly. We trust our members will appreciate and respect these changes.

We are fortunate to have a large enclosed garden and initially, we will reopen the garden only. In order to comply with social distancing, we will be limiting our capacity to 50 and will only be open to members; no guests or under 18’s will be permitted in the Club at this time.

We are required to keep a register of all members using the Club so that we comply with contact tracing regulations. Our key fob entry enables us to compile this information automatically, so all members will be required to present their key fob on entry. You must not enter using someone else’s fob or with someone else without presenting your own fob. If you do not have a key fob, you will need to order one for collection on your first visit to the Club once we reopen. You may also be asked to show your membership card.

To begin with, our opening hours will be reduced and there will be a one-way system for queuing at the bar and movement through the Club. Members will be expected to follow specific instructions in respect of social distancing and health and safety measures.

The enclosed flyer explains some of the initial requirements and government regulations that you need to know for when we reopen. All the new rules and information will be confirmed on the Club website.


Please note that all the changes will be reviewed weekly and modified. This may include changes to the opening times and restrictions to how and when members can visit the Club. All modifications will be promoted on the Club’s website and we encourage all members to review the Club website regularly and before visiting the Club.
